🚐 Tramper Hire
Our Tramper (All‑Terrain Mobility Scooter) is available to hire from Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre, giving visitors with limited mobility the chance to enjoy more of our beautiful coastline. The Tramper can be used on three designated routes:

Woolacombe Main Beach – as far as Mill Rock

Through the Dunes – all the way to The Porthole Café

Donkey Path to Twitchen and Combesgate Valley – currently unavailable due to maintenance
For safety, all users must be accompanied and remain on the designated Tramper routes. Due to its size and design, the Tramper isn’t suitable for exploring the village.
🌿 How to Hire
The Tramper is part of the Countryside Mobility Scheme. To hire it, you’ll need to join the scheme — and you can do this easily at the Tourist Information Centre during your first hire. Membership includes:
- A full induction on how to use the Tramper
- Guidance on the approved route
- Insurance for your session
Hire cost: £5 per 2‑hour session Membership options:
- £3 — single use
- £5 — two‑week taster
- £15 — annual membership
🕒 Hire Times
The Tramper can be booked for two hours at a time, with two daily sessions:
- Morning: 10.30am – 12.30pm
- Afternoon: 1.30pm – 3.30pm
It must return to the TIC between sessions for charging, so full‑day hire isn’t possible.

Beach Wheelchair Hire

We’re proud to offer two Beach Wheelchairs at Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre, helping more people enjoy the sand and sea with confidence. They are free to use, though a £5 donation per hire is kindly suggested to help support this service.

Weight limit: Maximum user weight is 14 stone.

Where they can be used: These chairs are designed specifically for Woolacombe’s main beach. Due to their size, they aren’t suitable for the village, dunes, or other beaches.

Hire duration: Available for half‑day or full‑day hire. Chairs must be returned before the TIC closes — they cannot be kept overnight.

Types of chairs: We have two models — the Wheeleze Sandcruiser and the Hippocampe. Get in touch and we’ll help you choose the one best suited to your needs.

Beach Rollator
The Beach Rollator is designed to make visiting the beach easier and more enjoyable for anyone who needs extra support when walking on sand.
Its large, wide wheels glide over soft sand without sinking, giving you a smoother, more stable experience along the shoreline. The ergonomic handles and padded seat add comfort, whether you’re walking or taking a moment to rest.
If traditional walkers or crutches make sandy terrain difficult, this rollator can be a great way to enjoy the beach with more confidence and less effort. It’s all about helping you relax, explore, and make the most of your time by the sea.
The Rollator is free to use, but we do suggest a £5 donation per hire towards funding this service.
