Pickwell Barton Cottage is an award-winning coastal holiday cottage set on our family-run sheep farm near Woolacombe in North Devon, overlooking the beautiful sands of Putsborough Beach. Our peaceful working farm has been in the family for over 100 years and offers guests a relaxing countryside setting just minutes from some of North Devon’s best beaches.

Originally the farm’s old coach house, the cottage sits in its own private setting at the bottom of the farmyard with a separate entrance and private parking. Full of character, it retains many original features including oak beams while offering comfortable, well-equipped accommodation for modern holidays.

The cottage sleeps up to six guests across three spacious bedrooms, making it ideal for families, couples, or multi-generational holidays. Upstairs you’ll find two king-size bedrooms and a flexible twin room that can be zip-linked to create a super-king bed. A family shower room serves the bedrooms.

Downstairs, the cottage features a welcoming farmhouse kitchen with pantry and direct access to the patio and lawn garden. The cosy lounge with wood burner, Smart TV and comfortable seating is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the coast. Additional facilities include a bathroom with shower over bath and a separate WC.

One of the highlights of Pickwell Barton Cottage is its beautiful private garden. Guests can enjoy a well-kept lawn and patio with outdoor dining furniture and a gas BBQ – perfect for summer evenings and al fresco meals surrounded by countryside.

From the cottage door, a scenic walk across our fields leads towards the famous beaches of Woolacombe and Putsborough, making it easy to enjoy the spectacular North Devon coastline.

Guests also have access to a games room with a pool table, table tennis, table football, darts and the traditional local game of Devon skittles – great fun for all ages.

To make your stay extra comfortable we provide beds made up for arrival, towels, heating, electricity and fibre Wi-Fi. The cottage also includes a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a welcome hamper of local goodies. Guests also benefit from complimentary parking at Putsborough Sands.

For practicality there is a large utility and cloakroom with plenty of space for coats, surfboards, wellies and walking boots. We also provide a barn for secure bike storage, ideal for exploring North Devon’s beautiful countryside and coastal paths.
