RHS Rosemoor February Half Term 2025

Guess How Much I Love You™ – A Garden Adventure at RHS Rosemoor

Daily, from Saturday 15 February until the end of 2025 accompanied by Half Term activities until 23 February

Starting on Saturday 15 February and continuing all year, explore the Guess How Much I Love You™ – A Garden Adventure trail following Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare around the garden. Bounce, hop and stretch like Little Nutbrown Hare, investigate colours, textures and shapes found in the garden, and learn about nature, growing and the changing seasons.

A programme of seasonal activities will accompany the physical trail throughout 2025, starting this half term.

‘Along Came a Magpie’ puppet theatre on Monday 17 February, 11am and 2pm, tells the story of a gardener in a potting shed whose plans are disrupted by a surprise visit from a curious bird! Recommended for children aged 7 and under, tickets are £2.50 per child and £1 per adult. Advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

Children can also enjoy free, drop-in craft workshops in the Garden Room from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 3.45pm:

  • Monday 17 February - Make a hare pot and plant carrot seeds
  • Tuesday 18 February - Create your own paper hug
  • Wednesday 19 February - Make your own mini hare
  • Thursday 20 February - Create a hare puppet
  • Friday 21 February – Design ‘stained glass’ hare art.

On Wednesday 19 February families can lose themselves in the heartwarming story of ‘Guess How Much I Love You’™ as Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare try to measure their love for each other. These story telling sessions, suitable for all ages at 10.30am, 11.30am, 2pm and 3pm, are free but booking is advised to secure your places.

If you’d prefer to be more active, book a guided Welly Walk that Wednesday from 10:30 – 12 noon to explore the garden, enjoy a craft or planting activity and a story. Recommended for ages 5 and under, accompanied by an adult, tickets are £3 per child.

Children can also be transformed into their favourite creature or decorate their own faces in the nature-themed face painting scheduled on the same day, Wednesday 19 February. Just pop in from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 3.30pm, no booking required.

On Thursday 20 February you can hear a beautiful story about the hidden world of wildflowers and pollinators then create your own butterfly or colour in a picture of a garden. ‘At the Bottom of Dudley’s Garden’ sessions run at 10.30am, 12noon, 2pm and 3.15pm, and are suitable for children of all ages, accompanied by an adult. This activity is free but booking is required.

If those aren’t good enough reasons to visit RHS Rosemoor this Half Term, the RHS is helping to get more children outside and learning about plants by reducing ticket prices for all visitors aged five to 16 years to £5 from 11 February onwards (under-fives continue to go free). Adults can also now save up to 25% when booking online, ahead of their visit.

Bringing the beautiful story and illustrations to our gardens, the RHS have partnered with Walker Books for the 30th anniversary celebration of Guess How Much I Love You™ by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram.
