Last Wednesday, 15th December, saw the end of an era in Woolacombe, when Shirley of Bowden's Newsagents (known as Shirley's to most!) in Barton Road, retired. Shirley, and her parents before her, have been newsagents in Woolacombe since the early 1970's, and has been an integral part of the local community and village life for all that time. Shirley will be greatly missed, and we wish her a long and relaxing retirement. Good luck to the new owners, who will be opening an Art Gallery in the premises.
